First day of Boot Camp "Wicker" Style
Posted by Wicker's Siberian Husky Pack on Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Ok, today is September 10 I have decided to keep a log of our training activities. Mind you we still have the puppies, so training will have to be in brief periods until they go to their new homes. Just wanted to take sometime and explain what was going on. As most of you know we have, Shiver, who will be 8 weeks on Wednesday the 11th of September and Gypsy the Rottweiler who is almost 4 months. Since Rottweilers grow and mature alot slower than Huskies, we decided not to start training until Shiver was old enough. Our main concerns with these two are:
- Jumping
- Biting
- Chewing
- Food Aggression
- Recall
- Sit
- Stay
- Lay down
- Put your head down
- Leave it
- only barking when they are permitted to
Gypsy will be taught German commands like Whiskey and Athena. When we were teaching Whiskey, Ice picked up on something so possibly Shiver will be taught German commands too, just depends on how well they work together.
The above table is pretty much what they will be learning both in English and German. Throughout the vocal commands we will be using hand commands so they are learning both. Once they are used to the vocal, they will be able to go on simple hand commands.
